The manual transmission in decent society has long been considered an atavism, it is not clear at all who needs it and why. Indeed, during a leisurely daily movement from point A to point B, why bother with unnecessary movements, otherwise you might stall at a traffic light, which is not comme il faut. However, there is another society in which the crown of creation knows better than a soulless unit when it needs to pull the lever. And, fortunately, there are still car manufacturers who have not forgotten where it all began, and have left cars with three pedals in their lineup.
BMW Z4 and Toyota Supra 3.0
How did the Bavarians end up together with the Japanese? The editors of motoram.ru were also bothered by this question at one time. However, it so happened that the people who once built the 2JZ had to turn to Germany to create a new Supra. The same platform and engine make them, in fact, twins with different appearances. Under the hood of both is a BMW B58 with a turbocharger producing 382 hp. On the plus side, both are available with a manual transmission. On the downside, BMW is going to close the project in early 2026. However, according to experts, Toyota will release something to replace the legend. Well, we are waiting.
Acura Integra Type S
A good example of how Honda listens to its fans. And, judging by the desire to show the world the next version of the Integra, similar in spirit to the "hatchet" Honda Civic Type R, it is not going to deviate from this path. Integra is an extremely fun car with a fairly powerful "four" with 320 hp under the hood and a 6-speed manual transmission, which is a pleasure to shift. It is no coincidence that it is in deserved demand all over the world, and especially in the USA.
Lotus Emira (V6)
One of the best and, accordingly, balanced cars with signature features, unfortunately, popular only among experts. And in vain, because, again about the sad, perhaps this is the last Lotus with an internal combustion engine and even more so with a manual transmission. You can choose to install 2 engines - a "four" from Mercedes-Benz or a turbocharged V6 from Toyota (and why isn't it in the Supra?). Mechanics are more suitable for the second, because what kind of sports car is on 4 cylinders? And the power of 394 hp makes you feel as confident as possible.
Ford Mustang Dark Horse
Good old Mustang. Over the past few years, probably one of the most interesting sports cars with an internal combustion engine. And you can't call it a dark horse, the Coyote V8 with 500 horsepower under the hood very clearly and unequivocally states that it will not remain in the catch-up. And the most aggressive design does not help to mask his intentions to tear everyone and everything. A real, thoroughbred, evil muscle car on a "stick" - what could be better?
BMW M2 / M3 / M4
And again the Bavarians. Their connoisseurs of manual transmission love them more than anyone else, and there is a reason for this: they solemnly promised to keep cars with a "stick" on the assembly line until 2030 and are still confidently keeping their word. At the moment, M2, M3 and M4 are available for purchase, but the last two will soon lose their "mechanics" too, the M2 will remain the only outlet. However, if you consider that you can only put all-wheel drive on it, it remains an ideal option. When buying any of these options, the owner will receive an in-line "six" with 473 hp in pair with the manual transmission.
