In early December, the Chinese automaker Changan announced the start of sales of the luxury Avatr 12 grand coupe with an electric power plant in Russia. Prices for the model start from 6.5 million rubles, and the car's equipment is impressive – it seems that it has everything you need and even more.
The design of the electric car is inspired by classic European supercars: a long hood, no rear window, and a raised rear end with an active spoiler. The latter automatically rises at speeds above 90 km/h, but the driver can customize the spoiler's operation. The exterior emphasizes the car's sporty character and its technological sophistication.
The interior of the Avatr 12 is designed with an emphasis on luxury and comfort. Alcantara, genuine leather, and wood veneer are used in the trim. Buyers can choose bright combinations of white-purple or gray-blue interior with red seat belts, while classic lovers will get a black design option. The square steering wheel with three-level heating looks more like a racing car's helm.
Compared to the Avatr 11, the 12th series model has become more technologically advanced: all doors are equipped with electric drives and can be opened using a button, a media system touchscreen, or a mobile application. A fully contactless landing function is also available, when the driver's door automatically opens when keyless entry is activated. In expensive trim levels, the side mirrors are replaced with cameras with hydrophobic coating and heating, and digital mirrors are installed in the cabin.
The main panel is a virtual instrument panel that stretches across the entire width of the car; the screen diagonal is 34.5 inches. All functions can be controlled via a 15.6-inch media system monitor, and the voice assistant responds to commands like "I'm cold" or "Raise the temperature." Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported, and integration of Yandex services is promised in the future.
The Avatr 12 seats are equipped with Zero Gravity function, heating, ventilation, and massage, and the front seats have electrically adjustable ottomans. A special platform for wireless charging of smartphones lowers when the device is installed, fixing it and creating a microclimate for cooling.
The power plants are developed by Huawei: the base version with one electric motor develops 313 hp and 370 Nm, accelerating the car to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. The two-motor version has 578 hp, 650 Nm and accelerates to hundreds in 3.9 seconds. The CATL battery with 94.53 kWh provides up to 610 km of range according to the NEDC cycle. Top versions received air suspension with ride height adjustment of 45 mm and intelligent all-wheel drive control.
