Exeed VX was once considered one of the most expensive Chinese crossovers on the Russian market and promised a premium experience. However, some owners decided to part ways with the car after tens of thousands of kilometers.
The first story was shared by an owner from Moscow who sold his VX after 38,500 kilometers. Before that, he drove a 2018 Skoda Kodiaq and was tired of the growing costs of repairs and spare parts. The choice fell on the seven-seater VX in the maximum President version with a gasoline two-liter engine and all-wheel drive. The car cost him a little more than 4 million rubles, taking into account trade-in and credit. The sale occurred due to the rapid drop in the car's price: with a few more tens of thousands of kilometers, its value would almost equal scrap metal. The only serious drawback the owner mentioned was the all-wheel drive system, which did not work effectively; otherwise, the impressions of the car remained positive.
The second story is also from Moscow — the owner of a 2022 car sold his VX after only 17,000 kilometers. The purchase was spontaneous: a visit to his godmother, who once worked at Mini and then moved to Exeed, led to the deal. The sale occurred for financial reasons — an opportunity arose to take an Exeed TXL at a discount. Among the disadvantages, the owner noted a large turning radius, weak brakes, and the need to replace the cameras. At the same time, the seven-seater interior turned out to be convenient for traveling and transporting dogs, and in its class, Exeed, in his opinion, remained a step above other Chinese models.
The third story — the owner of a 2022 VX who sold the car after 70,000 kilometers. The main motivation for the purchase was the need for a reliable new car with an official warranty. He chose the President configuration for the number of options and the seven-seater interior. The sale was again part of the habit of changing cars every three years. During operation, vibrations occurred at speed, which were resolved by replacing the discs, as well as minor shortcomings that were eliminated independently, including door noises and the addition of a processor amplifier. The owner was impressed by the spaciousness, comfort on the highway, confident dynamics, and the ability to maintain a speed of 170–180 km/h with a consumption of 10–12 liters.
The fourth experience came from St. Petersburg — the owner bought a 2022 VX with a mileage of 47,500 kilometers after searching for a large car for a growing family. Initially, used German models were considered, but there was no suitable option in the budget of up to 4 million rubles. Exeed VX attracted attention for its characteristics, equipment, and spacious interior. The sale occurred after several service visits: the timing chain was replaced, the driveshaft was checked, the software was updated, three cameras and an air conditioning tube were replaced.
The main disadvantages that owners complained about included the cautious operation of the "robot", the weak power reserve of the turbo engine, high fuel consumption in the urban cycle, stiff suspension, and weak brakes. The all-wheel drive system was perceived by most owners as a "highway" system — the rear axle was connected with a delay. Exeed's service policy also raised questions: replacement cars were often unavailable, appointments were stretched for months, and spare parts delivery took weeks.
At the same time, the advantages of the VX were highly appreciated: a spacious seven-seater interior, comfort on long routes, comfortable fit, confident dynamics, and rich equipment. Owners noted the convenience of the multimedia system with a large screen and Android box, as well as a huge panoramic roof, making trips enjoyable even over long distances.
Despite the service inconveniences, many owners noted the friendly Exeed community, where owners help each other with advice and real help. The car, although it required attention to maintenance, made a positive impression in everyday use and on long trips.
