Since 2022, the BMW production lines on the territory of Kaliningrad's Avtotor have remained unused, but the situation may change.
According to the head of the company, Denis Pak, Asian partners, mainly Chinese companies, are showing interest in the idle facilities. The main priority is to load the plant as efficiently as possible and with minimal costs.
Pak clarified that he is talking about the entire complex at the disposal of Avtotor. Although cooperation with BMW has not formally ceased, the German concern has long curtailed its activities in Russia. Nevertheless, a legal entity, BMW Russland Automotive LLC, representing the interests of the brand, is still operating in the region.
According to financial data for 2024, the company showed a loss of 431 thousand rubles.
