Volvo terminates contract with dealer who sold truck to Russia

FLGR head Elena Vyalbe boasted in May about purchasing a truck for the Russian national ski team's service crew

Volvo Trucks has stopped supplying equipment to a dealer who circumvented sanctions restrictions to send a truck to Russia. A brand representative, Klaas Eliasson, noted that the authorities of the country where the seller is located have already been notified of the sanctions violation, and an investigation has begun.

Eliasson did not name the foreign intermediary involved in the deal, nor the country where the company is specifically located. It was possible to determine which of the Volvo Trucks dealers the truck went to thanks to the distinctive cab coloring.

The fact of the deal became known in May of this year. The head of the Russian Ski Association (FLGR), Elena Vyalbe, published a photo and spoke about the acquisition of a Volvo FH16 truck.

The semi-trailer truck became part of the technical support for the Russian national team - a team of servicemen works in the equipped service trailer, preparing skis for the athletes.
