2026 Kia Telluride to Get New Design and Hybrid Powertrain

The car is already undergoing road tests

Kia is preparing a major update to its flagship Telluride SUV for 2026. The car is already undergoing road tests, and the first renders based on spy photos have appeared online. The new Telluride will get a more angular design, similar to the Hyundai Palisade, and modern powertrains. The SUV will retain its reputation as a versatile family vehicle but will become more technologically advanced and efficient.

The exterior of the 2026 Telluride will become more "square," with an emphasis on brutality. The X-Pro version stands out with orange accents on the bumper and an enlarged air intake. The side profile is characterized by a "floating" roof, darkened pillars, and expressive wheel arches. At the rear, the car will receive a vertical door, reminiscent of the Range Rover, and updated vertical lights. The interior will be inspired by the electric Kia EV9: a spacious center console, a digital dashboard, a large multimedia screen, seats with massage function, and digital key support.

Under the hood, the base version is expected to have a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 287 hp and 352 Nm. The hybrid version, based on a 2.5-liter engine, will provide 329 hp and a V2L system for powering external devices. The 2026 Telluride will compete for buyers with the Chevrolet Traverse, Toyota Grand Highlander, Mazda CX-90, Ford Explorer, Honda Pilot, and Nissan Pathfinder. The premiere is expected in 2025, and sales will begin in 2026 at the Kia plant in Georgia, USA.
