Russia and China have begun work on mutual recognition of driver's licenses, said Andrei Nikitin, head of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation.
The minister noted that at the moment there are no specific dates when the measure may become available.
This is being done in the format of ongoing work, but there are no specific deadlines.
In March, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation Dmitry Zverev first announced that Russian driver's licenses (DL) could be recognized as valid for driving vehicles in China.
Currently, Russian DLs are valid in countries that have signed and ratified the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic. In states that have only signed the Geneva Convention, an international driver's license will be required.
At the same time, no driver's licenses are currently valid in China, except for local ones - neither international nor Russian.
