BYD Enters the European Market and is Ready to Compete with Porsche and Audi

BYD Vice President Li Ke stated that the Yangwang brand is preparing to enter the British automotive market under the Denza brand with three car models by 2027. The company considers Porsche and Audi from the Volkswagen Group to be its main competitors.

The Yangwang brand released its first car in 2023, the Yangwang U8, a premium SUV with over 1000 horsepower, the ability to turn on the spot, and float. The second model is the Yangwang U9, a supercar with a top speed of around 386 km/h. A key feature of the car is its hydropneumatic suspension, which allows it to jump over obstacles and do a "freewheel" (drive on 3 wheels).

Both models are already sold in China and cost 120,000 and 200,000 pounds respectively. In the future, the brand plans to launch the U7 model with 4 electric motors in the European market, comparable in power (1250 hp) to the Lotus Emeya.
