Kalingrad-assembled Omoda C7 crossover certified in Russia

Car production started back in August

Production of the Omoda C7 crossover has started at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad, reports the portal "Chinese Automobiles." Officially, the localization of the model in the country has not been announced.

Baltauto, an affiliate of the Avtotor holding, has received vehicle type approval (OTTS) for the Omoda C7 crossover.

The document allows mass sales of cars in the Russian Federation and the EAEU countries, followed by obtaining vehicle passports. Apparently, the first batches of Omoda C7 with Russian VIN numbers will soon appear in the brand's dealerships.

At the same time, car production was established even before the official completion of the certification process, in August. For this purpose, Avtotor organized a painting complex and six robotic welding lines with a capacity of 200 thousand bodies per year.
