Won't Break the Bank: Russians Name the Cheapest Car Brands to Repair

"Chinese" Cars Take the Lead Here Too

After foreign brands left the Russian market, insurers are recording an increase in repair costs and vehicle restoration times. However, according to estimates from RESO-Garantia and Rosgosstrakh, the situation is gradually stabilizing, especially for popular models.

RESO-Garantia noted that the supply of spare parts for Toyota, Nissan, and Volkswagen has been largely restored, but logistics remain expensive. This directly affects CASCO and OSAGO rates: the more complex and longer the repair, the higher the insurance policy.

Repair times have become a key problem, not the price of parts. A shortage of components can delay vehicle restoration for weeks.

Chinese brands are showing more stable dynamics. Haval, Geely, Chery, and GAC have official spare parts warehouses and service centers, making them the most cost-effective to repair under CASCO.

The situation is different for cars imported through parallel imports. Due to the lack of original parts and technical documentation, such cars often sit idle for months.

According to Rosgosstrakh, the cost of repairing Chinese models and cars of "departed" brands is approximately the same when comparing cars of the same class. However, the premium segment stands out sharply: BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi continue to lead in terms of the high cost of spare parts and services.

Experts agree on one thing: the more popular and mass-produced a car is, the cheaper and faster it is to repair. That is why demand for officially supported models is now growing.
