BYD Auto has announced that its proprietary "God's Eye" driver assistance system has been installed on more than two million vehicles in China. In October, sales of vehicles equipped with ADAS functions reached 316,759 units. The main BYD brand accounted for 279,724 of these, Fangchengbao sold 29,974 vehicles, Denza - 6,409, and the premium brand Yangwang - 652 units.
The company emphasizes that the connected fleet generates telemetry from more than 130 million kilometers of mileage daily. This volume of data allows for accelerating model training and improving algorithms, which are then distributed to the entire model range via software updates.
The implementation of the system has noticeably accelerated in recent months: earlier this year, BYD reported 1.7 million installations, and now the figure exceeds two million. In October, total sales of BYD passenger cars exceeded 430,000, and most of them are already equipped with God's Eye assistants - which shows a shift in the market towards the mandatory presence of ADAS even in inexpensive segments.
BYD's approach differs from the strategy of competitors such as Nio, Li Auto, and Xpeng, which typically introduce advanced assistants first in higher-end models. The mass distribution of ADAS at BYD forms the largest base in China for continuous learning of driver assistance systems and confirms that advanced assistants are becoming the norm for cars of all categories.
