The Onvo L90 Black Knight special edition, a full-size Nio crossover in a deep black finish, debuted at the Guangzhou Auto Show 2025. The edition is limited to 999 units. The model is available with a BaaS (Battery as a Service) subscription, without the battery, for 220,800 yuan, which is equivalent to approximately $31,060. This makes the Black Knight significantly more affordable than the Tesla Model Y in the local market.
The special version stands out with its all-black body: the bumpers, body kit, 21-inch wheels, and emblems are all painted in the same tone. Interestingly, the interior is finished in a contrasting brown color. The cabin is designed for six seats in a 2+2+2 configuration, with the right seat in the second row being a captain's chair with a "zero gravity" function. The equipment package includes electric running boards and proprietary options that usually come at an extra cost.
In terms of technology, the Black Knight matches the standard L90: 5145 mm long, 1998 mm wide, 1786 mm high, with a wheelbase of 3110 mm. The drag coefficient is 0.25. It has two trunks: a front one with 240 liters and a rear one with 430 liters. The dual-motor version develops 440 kW (approximately 590 hp) and is equipped with an 85 kWh battery, providing a range of up to 570 km.
