Citizens of Russia and Belarus have issued over 63 thousand allied OSAGO policies

Demand for policies has almost tripled since the summer and continues to grow as travel between countries picks up

As of October 31, residents of Russia and Belarus have issued more than 63 thousand allied OSAGO policies. According to "Sputnik Belarus", the volume of insurance has almost tripled compared to June, when about 23 thousand such policies were issued. At the same time, the distribution of demand differs significantly: about 2.2 thousand contracts were concluded in Russia, while in Belarus - more than 60 thousand.

The structure of the insurance market remains the same: Russians are more likely to buy "blue cards" designed for short-term trips. 530 thousand of them were sold in ten months, and 85% of them are policies for up to 15 days. This confirms the preference for one-time visits instead of a long stay, unlike Belarusian drivers, who are more actively using allied OSAGO.

The Belarusian Bureau of Transport Insurance clarified that 238 insurance cases were declared in Russia by Belarusians, and the amount of claims reached 18.5 million Russian rubles. Russians in Belarus have only four such appeals - for 11.7 thousand Belarusian rubles. At the same time, in Belarus, allied OSAGO is much more popular among individuals than among companies.
