More than 2.5 thousand Omoda C7 vehicles recalled in Russia

Rosstandart reported a defect affecting the steering wheel and front airbag

The official distributor of Omoda in Russia, Chery Automobiles Rus, has announced a large-scale inspection of C7 crossovers. 2577 vehicles are subject to recall: 672 cars have already been delivered to customers between April and August 2025, and another 1905 units are at dealers' warehouses. Information about the campaign is published on the Rosstandart website.

The problem concerns a plastic element of the steering wheel, which, in the event of an accident, may incorrectly detach from the body of the front airbag. In some cases, this can disrupt its correct deployment and increase the risk of injury to the driver or passengers. To fix the defect, the entire unit will be replaced on all vehicles included in the program - the cover along with the front airbag.

Car owners will be sent notifications inviting them to contact official service centers. All work will be carried out free of charge, and cars at dealers will be modified before being handed over to customers.
