Attempts to make a car "invisible" to road cameras often turn into serious problems. Some drivers use protective films, reflective coatings, illuminated frames, deliberately dirty the license plates, or damage individual characters to make recognition difficult. However, such methods not only don't work but also directly violate the law, explained a motor vehicle lawyer.
According to him, inspectors easily detect traces of interference when inspecting a car. Scratches, deformation, traces of paint, or foreign coatings immediately attract attention.
Intentional distortion of license plates can result in a fine of up to 5,000 rubles. In some cases, the court applies a stricter measure — revocation of the driver's license for up to three months.
Even if the camera couldn't clearly read the number, this doesn't exempt you from responsibility. The images are additionally analyzed, and the car is identified by make, model, color, and other characteristics. After that, the order is still issued, and trying to hide the number only exacerbates the situation.
The human rights activist emphasizes that such "tricks" almost always lead to additional expenses and legal problems.
