Toyota has officially started selling the restyled crossover in its home market of Japan. The updated model is already available for order from local dealers and has received not only external improvements, but also a number of improvements in terms of technology, equipment and interior materials.
In Japan, the crossover is offered in five trim levels at once — X, G, Z, S-Package and GR Sport. The base version X is priced at 3.79 million yen, which is equivalent to approximately 2.37 million rubles, and the top-end RAV4 GR Sport costs 5.273 million yen or about 3.27 million rubles. Thus, the updated model has noticeably increased in price, especially in the sports version.
The technical part is generally preserved, but refined. The base RAV4 is equipped with a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine with a capacity of 171 hp with a CVT, and the hybrid version combines a 2.5-liter internal combustion engine and an electric motor with a total output of 222 hp. The drive can be front or all-wheel drive. Already "in the base" the crossover received an extended Toyota Safety Sense complex, a new multimedia system with an enlarged screen and improved interior trim.
In Russia, the updated RAV4 is likely to appear through parallel imports — but at completely different prices.
