Dongfeng recalls nearly 13,000 trucks in Russia

Problems with noise, light indication and instrument panel were revealed after inspection by Rosstandart

«Дунфэн Мотор Рус», the official representative of Dongfeng in Russia, has announced a recall campaign affecting 12,914 heavy trucks. The information was published on the Rosstandart website following an unscheduled on-site inspection, during which violations were identified and the validity of conformity assessment documents was suspended.

The recall includes 9308 Dongfeng DFH4180 (GX) tractors sold between January 15, 2023, and July 11, 2025, as well as another 3606 similar vehicles that have not yet been sold. The main reason cited is exceeding the permissible noise level in various operating modes, which does not meet the requirements of UN Regulation 51-03.

In addition, the trucks have inconsistencies in terms of light indication and control markings: there is no illumination of the heater and air conditioner control elements, and the wrong color is used for the control signals for heating and blowing the windshield. These violations contradict the requirements of UN Regulation 121-01.

As part of the campaign, all vehicles will have their power plant software updated, the condition of the mufflers will be checked with possible replacement, and the instrument panel will be completely replaced with correct indication of controls and signals. All work will be carried out free of charge, and truck owners will be invited to official dealerships.
