Inner Mongolia hosted the largest winter electric vehicle tests, organized by Autohome. In extreme conditions from -10°C to -25°C, 67 cars were simultaneously tested in seven scenarios: range, energy consumption, fast charging, air conditioning, emergency braking, acceleration, and off-road capabilities. The tests were recognized as record-breaking in scale, as confirmed by the Guinness Book of Records.
The best range performance was shown by the Xpeng P7 (AWD) with 53.9%, followed by the BYD Yangwang U7 (AWD) and Zeekr 001 (AWD). The Tesla Model Y (AWD) was only in 31st place with 35.2%, and the Li Auto i8 (AWD) closed the list with 34.8%. In the 100 km energy consumption discipline, compact hatchbacks led: BYD Seagull (23.5 kWh), Geely Xingyuan, and BYD Seal 06.
In the fast charging test in severe cold, the Avatr 06 became the winner, requiring only 15 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%. The Xiaomi YU7 and Tesla Model Y showed 31 and 35 minutes, respectively.
The Xiaomi SU7 sedan did not undergo winter testing.
