The Chinese automotive industry has launched a coordinated initiative aimed at improving the quality and reliability of intelligent lighting systems in next-generation electric vehicles. The project was officially presented at an industry meeting in Changzhou and is being implemented under the auspices of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers. It involves automakers, component suppliers and technology companies operating in the rapidly growing electric vehicle market.
The event brought together more than 30 industry representatives. Among the automakers that joined the program are Geely, Great Wall Motor, Nio, Li Auto, FAW Hongqi, BAIC Group, Seres, JAC Motors and Sinotruk. Major suppliers and technology developers, including Huayu Vision, Damo DVI and Huawei Yinwang, have also joined the initiative, highlighting the growing link between automotive optics, sensors and software.
The main objective of the project is to create a unified system of requirements for the quality and reliability of intelligent lighting and visual systems. This refers not only to headlights, but also to integrated solutions that include adaptive lighting, electronic control and interaction with driver assistance and intelligent driving systems.
The initiative participants are discussing common evaluation criteria, reliability verification methods and cooperation mechanisms between automakers and suppliers. In China, such systems are increasingly going beyond the simple lighting function, turning into an important element of the "smart" electric vehicle architecture.
