Russian dealers of the Jaecoo brand have introduced an updated version of the J7 crossover, previously known as the J7 Limited Edition. The new restyling retains the signature design in the spirit of the Range Rover Evoque, but has received modernized engines, including the return of a 186-horsepower turbo engine for the all-wheel drive version. In addition, prices for the updated J7 have become slightly lower compared to the previous model.
While the pre-styling J7 Limited Edition was equipped with a 1.5-liter engine producing 147 hp, the updated crossover received a 1.6-liter unit producing 150 hp for the front-wheel drive version and a turbocharged modification producing 186 hp and 275 Nm for the all-wheel drive version. In both cases, a seven-speed "robot" is used, allowing acceleration to 100 km/h in 9 seconds for the powerful version versus 9.7 seconds for the base version.
External changes include a smaller radiator grille with a new pattern and a redesigned front bumper. Depending on the configuration, the crossover is equipped with 18-inch wheels, 6 airbags, heated and ventilated seats, climate control, a media system with a 13.2-inch display, a Snapdragon 1855 processor, surround view cameras and Sony acoustics with 8 speakers.
The updated J7 is offered in four trim levels — two for each type of drive — with prices ranging from 2,799,000 to 3,399,000 rubles. For comparison, the pre-styling version cost 2,959,000–3,509,900 rubles. Production of the Limited Edition version is gradually being completed: dealer stocks are almost exhausted, and information about it has already been removed from the official website.
