Starting January 1, 2026, vehicle towing rates will increase in Moscow. For motorcycles and cars with up to 80 hp, the fee will be 8,500 rubles instead of 7,600. Cars with engines up to 250 hp will be towed for 12,400 rubles.
The same amount will also apply to more powerful cars. For heavy and oversized vehicles weighing more than four tons, the price will rise to 71,100 rubles.
Keeping a car in an impound lot will cost from 1,300 to 3,000 rubles per day. At the same time, the first day will remain free, and if the car is returned quickly, drivers will be able to avoid additional expenses.
The decision to tow is made by traffic police inspectors or MADI. You can find out where the vehicle was taken by calling 102 or 112.
The towing can be challenged if there was no traffic violation. Article 27.13 of the Administrative Offences Code prohibits detention when the driver returns to the car before the tow truck begins moving. In such a case, the tow truck must stop loading. If the towing is recognized as unlawful, the driver is reimbursed for transportation and storage costs.
In 2026, the 25% discount will remain in effect if the towing fee is paid before the vehicle is collected. If the driver picks up the car within 24 hours, no storage fee is charged.
