Tenet Crossovers Increased in Price Again: Russian Assembly Didn't Save from Price Hike

The brand has updated price lists for the entire model range

The Russian brand Tenet, under which re-badged Chery models are produced at the former Volkswagen plant in Kaluga, has revised prices for all of its crossovers at once. The price increase affected the T4, T7, and T8 and amounted to 40 to 75 thousand rubles, which is equivalent to an increase of 1.9–2.1%.

The most affordable Tenet T4 crossover, based on the Chery Tiggo 4, saw the smallest increase. Basic versions with a naturally aspirated engine and front-wheel drive became more expensive by 40 thousand rubles. The Active trim with a turbo engine added 45 thousand, and the Prime versions, as well as all-wheel drive versions, increased by 49 thousand rubles. As a result, the initial price of the model exceeded 2.0 million rubles.

The mid-size Tenet T7 became more expensive more evenly. Front-wheel drive versions added 55 thousand rubles each, and all-wheel drive versions added 60 thousand rubles each. The model is equipped with an alternative 1.6-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 150 hp and a robotic gearbox, and AWD versions are equipped with an intelligent all-wheel drive system with several driving modes.

The flagship of the line, the seven-seater Tenet T8 with all-wheel drive, became the most expensive. In the Prime configuration, the price increased by 70 thousand rubles, and the top-end Ultra version added 75 thousand rubles at once. Both versions are equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 197 hp and a seven-speed "robot".
