A car left in a snowdrift risks accelerated wear of components and hidden damage due to temperature changes, exposure to reagents, and prolonged parking. This was announced by the head of the Department for work with importers of Gazprombank Autoleasing, auto expert Alexander Kornev.
According to him, the "snow coat" preserves reagents that gradually destroy exposed metal.
Constant temperature jumps "through zero" accelerate corrosion, especially in hard-to-reach places with constant humidity. Iron near arches, on sills and door edges, in the area of seals and under plastic gives up first.
Kornev added that prolonged parking negatively affects the battery - batteries lose charge, and worn ones risk being completely discharged. Corrosion often affects the terminals, which leads to problems with undercharging and contact.
