BYD Launches Special Taxi Sedan - With Autopilot, Fast Charging, and Up to 605 km Range

The new Linghui e9 was not created for private owners: the focus is on taxi fleets, carsharing, and government agencies

BYD Auto officially unveiled the BYD Linghui e9 sedan – the first model of the new Linghui brand, aimed at the taxi and ride-hailing market. At first glance, the e9 looks like a regular business sedan, almost 5 meters long. But the key feature is hidden in the car's architecture: the model was initially designed for intensive commercial operation.

The sedan received the proprietary second-generation Blade Battery and support for ultra-fast Flash Charge. The top version provides up to 605 km of range according to the CLTC cycle.

For taxi fleets, this is critical: less time charging means a higher vehicle utilization rate. That's why BYD is actively introducing separate models for the corporate segment, where competition is currently fierce.

Another focus is driver assistance systems. The e9 is equipped with the "God's Eye" complex with 26 sensors, including radars and surround-view cameras. The car can automatically change lanes, navigate interchanges, and park without driver intervention.

The interior is also adapted for passenger transport. The second row features a separate touch climate control unit, a panoramic roof, and enhanced sound insulation. There is an NFC key and 50W wireless charging.

The model is offered in three versions at prices ranging from 150,800 to 169,800 yuan (1,650,000 - 1,850,000 rubles). For comparison: many European electric sedans with similar systems cost twice as much.

The launch of Linghui demonstrates BYD's new strategy. The company is no longer limited to mass-market passenger models and is gradually segmenting its lineups for specific scenarios: premium, SUVs, sports, and commercial transport.
