Fuel supply problems have begun to extend beyond individual regions. Full or partial restrictions on the sale of gasoline and diesel fuel are already in effect in 16 regions of Russia. The most stringent measures have been introduced in Crimea and Sevastopol. There, the free sale of fuel has been temporarily completely stopped. Refueling is only available to state services that ensure the safety and vital activities of the regions.
Initially, the fuel shortage on the peninsula arose back in May due to problems with supply logistics. However, now the restrictions also affect other territories of the country.
At the regional level, additional measures have been introduced in several other regions. For example, in the Omsk region, there is a ban on dispensing fuel into canisters and other containers. Gasoline is dispensed only directly into the car's tank. At the same time, limits have been set at gas stations: up to 40 liters of gasoline and up to 80 liters of diesel fuel. For highway gas stations, the norms have been increased to 200 liters of diesel.
Another ten regions have faced local restrictions. In some cases, limits are introduced by specific gas station networks or individual districts. For example, temporary restrictions on fuel sales were recorded at a number of gas stations in the Voronezh region.
At the same time, the authorities of some regions state that this is not a systemic shortage. According to them, the disruptions are caused by increased demand and excitement among motorists. In the Vladimir region, residents were even advised to temporarily reduce the use of personal transport and purchase fuel only as currently needed.
The situation attracts particular attention against the backdrop of the beginning of the summer season, when the intensity of car trips traditionally increases and fuel consumption rises.
