Nikita Rodionov, technical director of the FIT SERVICE auto service chain, suggested ways for Russians to sell a car expensively. He recalled that summer is a period of high demand for used cars.
The specialist advised to look at the car through the eyes of the buyer and prepare a service history. Repairing key systems and replacing large parts on a car older than 10 years will be a plus.
It is better not to wash the engine compartment before selling, so as not to cause unnecessary suspicion. On the contrary, the body should be put in order, and the interior and trunk should be cleaned.
Get to the bottom of things
Diagnostics will allow the seller not only to carry out preparatory repairs, but also to see the full picture of the car's condition, the expert noted.
Thus, the owner will know about real and invented problems in order to communicate with buyers and "auto-selection specialists" in a reasoned manner, he pointed out.
Most cars in our country are old, with decent mileage, so the numbers on the odometer are no longer the main criterion. But underestimated data can be easily shown by reports on the history of the car's operation. Today, most car buyers order and study such detailed reports, be prepared for this check.
It is better not to hide the fact of an accident
On the contrary, it is better to carefully prepare the body for sale: get rid of minor dents, touch up chips, polish and treat the surface with wax, the auto expert believes. He also advised to clean up the interior and trunk.
If the car was in a serious accident, it is better not to hide this fact, but to show which parts were replaced or painted.
Buyers understand that today it is extremely difficult to find ten- and fifteen-year-old cars without the slightest scratch. Replaced parts or high-quality repairs are not critical news for the buyer.
