How Li Auto cars are sold in Russia

What difficulties dealers face, whether there is a shortage, and who became the main competitors of the brand

After the vehicle type approval was issued, sales of Li Auto cars in Russia moved into a more stable and understandable phase. According to "Chinese Cars", the official status significantly simplified the work of dealers, although it has not yet been able to completely remove all questions.

Alexander Madiarov, Director of the Li Auto Okami dealership, said that obtaining OTTS reduced the wariness of buyers. Customers are more willing to consider a purchase, despite rising prices. At the same time, the dealer network began to expand actively, since the most difficult stage had passed — importing cars through registration for individuals.

According to a company representative, the official status practically removed the problem of competition with alternative imports. For customers purchasing cars with VAT, buying from a dealer is more profitable than parallel schemes. At the same time, demand still exceeds supply: in 2025, about 1,200 Li Auto cars were imported into Russia under OTTS, and quotas for dealers remain limited.

The main part of the deliveries are L6 and L7 crossovers, while flagship L9s are much less common. Because of this, it is not always possible to find a car for a rare configuration, and buyers often have to choose from the available options.

All official Li Auto cars in Russia are provided with a factory warranty: 3 years or 100 thousand km of mileage for all components and assemblies, including spark plugs. An extended warranty applies to electric motors and traction batteries — 8 years or 160 thousand km. Support comes directly from the manufacturer, and service center employees have already undergone specialized training in China.

The main competitors of Li Auto in the Russian market are Wey, Voyah and the Exlantix line from Exeed, according to dealers. Their key advantage remains the availability of proprietary credit programs. However, the situation may change as early as the beginning of 2026, when Li Auto plans to launch its own financial instruments, including installments.

In 2026, the brand intends to expand its presence in Russia. New configurations are expected, as well as additional features focused on ease of use. Among the possible innovations is an international version of the proprietary Li application for smartphones, which will allow you to control the car without a Chinese phone number. Expansion of the model range is also possible, including the release of completely new models.

Currently, three Li Auto crossovers are officially offered in Russia. The base L6 of the 2025 model year is estimated in the range of 7,770,000–8,290,000 rubles, the L7 Ultra costs 9,990,000 rubles, and the flagship L9 Ultra costs 11,490,000 rubles, excluding special offers.
