The Russian Lada Niva Legend SUV will be equipped with an 8-valve 1.8-liter engine. These cars may go on sale in 2026, according to Oleg Grunenkov, Director of Products and Programs at AvtoVAZ.
The Legend version will get the same 90 hp engine as the updated Lada Niva Travel, which develops 153 Nm of torque.
This is 7 hp and 24 Nm more than the 1.7-liter unit that both models are currently equipped with.
In addition, the upgraded Niva Legend, in addition to the new engine and reinforced transmission, will receive front brakes from the Niva Travel with ventilated discs of increased diameter.
