The Kremlin explained the presence of imported spare parts in Russian cars

Currently, cars manufactured in Russia have a large proportion of imported components. Due to the difference in production volumes, domestic counterparts will be much more expensive, said Dmitry Peskov, the official representative of the Kremlin.

According to him, the production of a number of components must be massive in order to be competitive in the market.

In the world, the manufacturers of power windows or brake pads can be counted on the fingers of one hand. They produce tens of millions of spare parts per year. Russian companies, focused on the domestic market, can make several hundred thousand of such parts, but they will be several times more expensive.

According to the Russian Union of Auto Insurers, the cost of spare parts in Russia has increased by 1.9% in three months.
