Renault has introduced the compact Boreal crossover, based on the Dacia Bigster. This model launches a series of eight new products developed by the company for emerging markets to offset losses after leaving Russia. The car features an updated design and is adapted for a broad audience in 71 countries.
Boreal differs from Bigster with a more sloping roofline, giving it a modern look but reducing the trunk volume to 586 liters (1770 liters with the seats folded down). The crossover's dimensions are: length - 4556 mm, width - 1841 mm, height - 1650 mm, wheelbase - 2702 mm.
The interior is designed in the Renault style: a digital instrument panel and multimedia system are combined into a single panel, and the trim and controls have been modernized.
Initially, the Boreal is equipped with a 1.3 TCe petrol turbo engine with a power output from 138 to 156 hp, a 6-speed robotic gearbox, and front-wheel drive. A four-wheel drive version with a hybrid setup will be available later.
Production will be established in Brazil and Turkey.
