JAC Motors has introduced a diesel version of the T9 TDi pickup for the Russian market, with sales starting in August 2025. According to "Rossiyskaya Gazeta", the new model will cost 3,649,000 rubles, which is the same as the price of the gasoline version in the Explore configuration. The model is aimed at those looking for a reliable and versatile vehicle for work and outdoor activities.
The JAC T9 TDi is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine producing 170 hp and 410 N·m of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The part-time all-wheel drive system with a BorgWarner transfer case, low range, and rear differential lock ensures high off-road capability. The equipment is similar to the gasoline-powered Explore version: a 10.4-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, leather trim, power seat adjustments, and seven airbags.
According to "Autostat", JAC sold 2,845 T9 pickups in Russia in 2024, making it the leader among Chinese pickups in the market. The car's dimensions are 5330×1965×1920 mm, payload capacity is up to 1000 kg, and towing capacity is 3500 kg. Localization of T9 production will begin in the summer of 2025 in partnership with Sollers, which may reduce the price in the future.
