Geely apologizes and promises changes

Untimely disclosure of plans to expand the model range limited customer awareness

Geely Automobile Holdings has acknowledged shortcomings in its brand development strategy, export sales, and customer communication. At the interim conference on August 14, 2025, the company noted that the untimely disclosure of plans to expand the model range limited customer awareness. Geely apologized to customers and began implementing improvements to increase transparency.

The average price of Geely cars in the first half of 2025 decreased by $1946 due to increased sales of the mass-market Galaxy brand models, which reduced profitability. The slowdown in the premium segment also affected performance. However, the launch of the Lynk & Co 900, Zeekr 9X, and Galaxy M9 models should increase the average price of cars in the second half of the year.

The financial results for the first half of the year showed revenue of $20.9 billion (+27% compared to 2024) and net profit of $1.29 billion (-14%). Gross profit amounted to $3.44 billion, exceeding expectations. Geely intends to strengthen its position through new models and improved customer interaction.
