A report is presented on the problems encountered with a 2013 Chevrolet Niva vehicle. At the time of the report, the mileage was 196,000 km.
At approximately the 195,000 kilometer mark, the Niva made itself known with a loud noise. Corrosion ate through the exhaust pipe, and it fell off in a typical spot — near the clamp connecting the parts of the system. Rust damaged not only the supply pipe but also the muffler pipe.
A full repair would have required replacing both the still-working muffler and a significant portion of the exhaust system along with the functional resonator. The cost of spare parts alone would have exceeded 10,000 rubles.
