Hybrids Overtake Electric Vehicles in Russia

The Russian market for plug-in hybrids continues to grow actively. According to "Autostat", as of July 1, 2025, there were over 72,000 such cars in the country, which is 24.4% more compared to the beginning of the year, when the fleet amounted to 57,900 vehicles. For comparison: the number of purely electric vehicles in Russia reached 65,200, and for the first time, hybrids surpassed them in number.

The absolute market leader is the Chinese brand Li Auto, which accounts for more than 44% of all plug-in hybrids in Russia. Voyah ranks second with 20.3%, significantly behind the leader. Next are BMW, Mitsubishi, Aito, Wey, Volvo, and other manufacturers, gradually increasing their presence in the segment.

The list of the most popular models is topped by Li Auto L7 — 15,057 units. Li Auto L9 comes in second with 12,712 cars, and Voyah Free closes the top three (11,358 units).
