Skoda has begun testing prototypes of the new generation Fabia RS, spotted at the Nürburgring, which could mark the return of the model, discontinued more than a decade ago. The updated hatchbacks feature sporty elements: painted calipers, spoilers, and aerodynamic details that distinguish them from the standard Fabia version, produced since 2021. The premiere is expected in 2026, coinciding with the restyling of the fourth generation.
Under the hood, the Fabia RS will likely feature a 2.0-liter TSI turbo engine from the Volkswagen Polo GTI, producing 204 hp and 320 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed DSG robotic gearbox. This configuration will enhance the model's competitiveness in the compact sports car segment, despite the growing popularity of crossovers.
In 2024, Skoda sold 117,100 units of the Fabia, making it the third best-selling model in the brand's lineup.
