Experts from the Avto.ru Assessment service recorded the first increase in the price of new cars in Russia this year. Both domestic and foreign brands have increased in value.
The car market continues to be under pressure from pent-up demand associated with expectations of changes in the macroeconomic situation.
The prices of domestic manufacturers remain the most stable. The average price tag for a new domestic car in August was 1.58 million rubles, which is 0.8% higher than in July.
The average cost of a new car of Chinese brands reached 3.53 million rubles, adding 0.5% over the month. However, the general trend of 2025 remains: since August last year, the growth was 1.7%, and since the beginning of 2025, prices in the segment have decreased by more than 3%.
The leader in growth was the Republic of Bashkortostan, where the average price made a sharp jump of 12%, reaching 2.62 million rubles. Significant growth was also recorded in the Novgorod (by 9.4%, to 2.74 million rubles) and Samara (by 9%, to 3.68 million rubles) regions.
