Auto expert took Lada Iskra for a test drive: the first live impressions appeared

Maxim Kadakov: Lada Iskra drives well in corners, but accelerates not so brightly

The editor-in-chief of "Behind the Wheel", Maxim Kadakov, shared detailed impressions after a test drive of all three versions of the new Lada Iskra — sedan, station wagon and cross-station wagon.

The first batches of Lada Iskra were snapped up instantly after the start of sales, which left many questions about the new product from AvtoVAZ.

Here, for example, is how the auto expert assesses the driving performance of the new car from a domestic manufacturer.

With active driving, you can accelerate to 100 km/h in about 13 seconds. The station wagon and Cross versions do it even slower. But for a relaxed ride, the power is quite enough. My average fuel consumption was about 8 liters per 100 km. This is also not an outstanding indicator for a small car.

Kadakov stated that Lada Iskra behaves very confidently in corners, in any turn the feeling of control over the car is not lost.

At first I even thought that the stabilization system was missing, although it is included in the standard equipment. Then I realized: ESP does not interfere with the control for nothing, as is often the case in Chinese cars, but delicately corrects the driver's actions when he makes mistakes.

SW Cross is controlled similarly, but a little stiffer due to the 16-inch wheels and a different suspension setting. In addition, Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires are slightly better than the basic P1.

In general, the level of noise and vibration isolation of Iskra is slightly inferior to Vesta. There are slight vibrations at idle, the suspension works a little more noisy, and the wind blows in the luggage rails on the Cross version.
