Audi E5 Sportback Unveiled

The car's exterior is inspired by the Audi concept

SAIC-Audi has introduced the electric sedan E5 Sportback, which went on sale on September 16 in China. The car is available in four trim levels, priced from 235,900 to 319,900 yuan (US$32,500–44,000). Built on an intelligent digital platform developed by SAIC and Audi, the E5 Sportback combines futuristic design with advanced technology. Its dimensions are 4881×1960×1479 mm, with a wheelbase of 2950 mm, classifying the model as a mid-size sedan.

The car's exterior is inspired by the Audi E concept, featuring ring-shaped headlights, a closed radiator grille, and an illuminated Audi logo. It is equipped with 942 LED elements creating approximately 2000 triangular light patterns, hidden door handles, and electronic side mirrors with BSD, DOW, and RCTA functions. The interior includes an ultra-wide screen combining a digital instrument panel, a central display, and a screen for the passenger, as well as the Audi OS operating system on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip. The Momenta EBM driver assistance system uses 27 sensors, including LiDAR, and an Nvidia Orin-X chip for automated driving.

The E5 Sportback offers versions with one motor (299 or 408 hp) and two motors (525 or 787 hp), accelerating to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds in the top configuration. Batteries with a capacity of 76, 83, and 100 kWh provide a range of up to 773 km (CLTC). A 10-minute charge adds over 370 km of range. The model is equipped with the Audi quattro intelligent all-wheel drive system and active air suspension with height adjustment.
