Next-Generation MAZ X Truck Shown in Photos

The modernized truck received a hybrid drive system

MAZ X has ceased to be a concept and has turned into a production truck. In 2024, the Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ) presented the MAZ X project as a show truck designed to demonstrate the developments of the future generation.

However, already in 2025, the car underwent a deep revision — the cab, layout, and interior were changed. The release of the first pilot batch is not far off.

According to Nikolai Lokotko, Deputy Chief Designer for Truck Technology at MAZ, several copies of the tractor unit will be released in the coming months, which will be sent to carriers for test operation.

MAZ X is equipped with a hybrid power plant with a 7.8-liter turbodiesel engine with a capacity of 350 hp, operating through a battery and generator that power a pair of electric motors that drive the rear axle. Another important feature of the design is the sliding door located only on the right side of the cab.

The truck is equipped with an instrument panel of Belarusian production. The hybrid power system now uses a Euro-6 internal combustion engine instead of the previous Euro-5.
