Toyota Ranked No. 2 in Russia After Lada in the Used Car Market

Lada Granta Holds the First Place

According to "Autostat Info," Lada Granta became the most popular used car in Russia in September 2025.

The used car market continues to grow, partially offsetting the decline in new car sales. Last month, 581,700 vehicles were sold, which is 5% more than the previous year. Experts attribute the slight decrease compared to August-about 3%-to a seasonal decline in consumer activity.

The main drivers of growth remain the Lada, Toyota, and Hyundai brands. Sales of domestically produced cars reached 137,800 units, the Japanese brand-58,100 units, and the Koreans increased their volume by 16%, exceeding the 33,000-car mark.

There is also an increase in interest in Honda and BMW-by 10% and 12%, respectively. Among the sales leaders, in addition to Granta, are still Kia Rio, Hyundai Solaris, and Lada Vesta.

Overall, in the first nine months of 2025, the used car market almost maintained last year's figures: the decrease was only 1%. Experts note that buyers have become more attentive to the choice of cars, preferring cars with a clear history, certified programs, and verified service centers.
