At the Udokan Copper mining and metallurgical company, a quarry dump truck named after Elizaveta Burova, the scientist who discovered the Udokan deposit in 1949, has been put into operation for the first time. This territory in the Trans-Baikal Territory is considered the largest copper deposit in Russia and one of the largest in the world.
The new BELAZ is notable not only for its payload capacity of 240 tons, but also for its unique coloring. The visor of the body is decorated with a pattern in the color of bagulnik, the symbol of Transbaikalia. The machine received its own name and character, becoming a kind of "flagship" of the company's fleet.
For the first time in the company's history, the management of a 240-ton dump truck was entrusted to a female crew. Experienced machinists were trained at the manufacturing plant and are now responsible for one of the most difficult and responsible areas of work.
By the end of the year, seven more BELAZ 7531 series vehicles capable of transporting up to 240 tons of rock will appear in the Zapadny-1 and Zapadny-2 quarries. They will work in conjunction with quarry excavators with a bucket volume of 20 cubic meters, which will significantly increase the efficiency of copper mining.
