Stellantis Recalls Over 112,000 Hybrid Jeeps in the US Due to Engine Failure Risk

The problem is related to debris in the engine compartment

The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced the recall of 112,859 Stellantis vehicles due to the possibility of engine failure or fire. The agency points to debris found inside the engine, which may lead to loss of power or risk of fire, but the details of the malfunction are not specified.

The recall includes hybrid versions of the 2023–2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE and the 2024–2025 Jeep Wrangler 4XE. The company warns that a sudden loss of traction increases the likelihood of an accident, and a fire could lead to injury. There is no immediate solution for owners yet.

This is not the first major recall for Stellantis in the US: earlier this month, the company announced the return of about 375,000 Jeep SUVs for another fire-related reason, and in October recalled nearly 300,000 cars due to the risk of rollover.
