The updated Cadillac CT5, featuring a new Hurricane Matte Grey body color and an additional Red Performance package, debuted at the Guangzhou Auto Show. The package costs 8,000 yuan, which is equivalent to approximately $1,120. The new paint is applied using an eight-layer technology with a nano-matte effect and is inspired by the forces of hurricanes. The paint was tested for five years at a proving ground in Florida, checking the coating's resistance to extreme sun and moisture.
The Red Performance package includes red high-performance Brembo V-series calipers and a special red key designed for track modes. Cadillac is positioning the update as a way to emphasize the model's sporty character while maintaining the classic CT5 styling. Hurricane Matte Grey has become one of the most unusual colors in the lineup and has already generated interest among visitors to the exhibition.
As a reminder, the new generation Cadillac CT5 was released in March with a starting price of 215,900 yuan (about $30,200). The model is available in City Sports, Track Performance, and Track Performance with the Ultimate Track package versions, priced up to 265,900 yuan (approximately $37,200). The palette includes signature shades of Typhoon Green and Drift Blue, as well as the Performance Black Label package with black emblems, mirrors, and grille.
