Japanese Toyota has filed applications with Rospatent for the registration of four trademarks - Alphard, Celica, Carina, and Vellfire. They are all registered under class No. 12 of the International Classification of Goods and Services (ICGS), which includes, among other things, various types of automobiles.
Applications for trademark registration were filed in March 2025 and November 2024 from Japan. The validity of Alphard and Celica expires on March 31, 2035, Carina - on March 18, 2035, and Vellfire - on November 5, 2034.
Alphard and Vellfire are variations of the same minivan, currently produced by Toyota. The Carina model was produced until 2001, Celica - until 2005, but the Japanese manufacturer plans to revive the popular sports car. Previously, Toyota registered the Land Cruiser Prado trademark until March 31, 2035.
In September 2022, the Japanese manufacturer announced the cessation of car production at its plant in St. Petersburg, but since 2022, it has filed 86 applications with Rospatent for the registration of trademarks in the Russian Federation.
