A classic 1970 Porsche 911 Targa spent more than thirty years standing in the open air in the yard of a house in Idaho, USA. The car was literally covered with a dense layer of pine needles, under which it slowly disappeared from sight - until it was found by enthusiast and restorer Marcos Marzuca.

Marzuca learned about the existence of the forgotten Porsche in 2023. He found the owner of the car and bought the rare 911 as a restoration project. The car had a rich history: the first owner was the first official Porsche dealer in the USA, the car drove through California, Idaho and Canada, and the total mileage exceeded 160 thousand kilometers. At the same time, the original engine and license plate have been preserved.

After the first towing and washing, it turned out that the bottom was in surprisingly good condition. According to the restorer, it took a whole day to clean the body from pine needles, but under the layer of needles the car turned out to be relatively intact. Ahead is work with the suspension, engine and interior.

Surprisingly, the 2.2-liter opposed engine with a capacity of 155 hp remains repairable. The goal of the project is to return the Porsche to the road, while preserving the natural patina accumulated over half a century. Today, such 911s in good condition are estimated from 72 to 98 thousand euros.
