Drivers are set to be warned about road closures in a new way

In Russia, it has been proposed to create a corresponding unified register

In Russia, it has been proposed to create a unified electronic register with information on traffic restrictions on roads. The bill was prepared by Andrei Kutepov, head of the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy, and senators Valery Vasilyev and Viktor Kress.

The amendments are planned to be introduced to the Federal Law "On Highways and Road Activities in the Russian Federation" and a number of other regulatory acts. The explanatory note states that drivers often complain about the lack of a single source of data on road closures and restrictions.

The initiators believe that creating a unified register will allow any user to receive up-to-date information in a timely manner, which will improve road safety. Earlier, temporary closures on several streets in Moscow on January 6 and 7 had already been announced.
