The Soviet \"Kopeika\" for the Price of a Lada Vesta: a VAZ-2101 with 7,300 km Mileage Is for Sale in Russia

The car is almost 50 years old, but it spent most of its life in a garage

A remarkably well-preserved 1977 VAZ-2101 has been put up for sale in Russia. The listing appeared in Grozny: in nearly half a century, the car has covered only 7,308 km, as confirmed by the odometer reading. According to the owner, the car spent about 30 years in a dry garage in a suspended state and was hardly used at all.

The seller claims that the \"Kopeika\" had only one owner, the body has retained its factory paint, and the interior still has its original smell. The car has not been polished, and nothing has been changed technically — all parts remain original, including the rubber elements. Even the tires and wheels are dated 1977, and the shock absorbers are Polish-made, just like in the factory configuration.

The sedan is equipped with a 1.3-liter gasoline engine producing 69 hp, paired with a manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. The asking price for this well-preserved \"time capsule\" is 1.575 million rubles — about the same as a new Lada Vesta costs today.
