What the official BMW dealer in Russia offers and how much "German quality" costs today

New crossovers and sedans of the Bavarian brand are still available to Russians

BMW remains one of the most popular premium brands in Russia. Despite the suspension of official deliveries, interest in cars of the Bavarian brand has not disappeared. New BMWs continue to be imported into the country, and some models are sold here even more actively than in European markets. Car carriers with cars of the concern are regularly found on the roads, and dealers form a warehouse through parallel imports and limited batches of local assembly.

BMW X5 M Competition

Previously, BMW was deeply integrated into the Russian market and was actively engaged in localization. Several models in basic and medium configurations were assembled at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad, which made it possible to reduce the cost due to a reduced recycling fee. Premium versions, at the same time, were traditionally imported from abroad, maintaining their status and higher price.

In 2022, BMW officially curtailed its activities in Russia, but did not completely leave the country. The company retained some of the representative office's employees, who continue to be involved in service programs. In addition, the topic of "finishing assembly" of cars from car kits remaining from previous times periodically emerges. At the end of 2024, about 100 copies of the X5 and X7 were assembled at Avtotor, and at the end of 2025 another batch appeared. Formally, BMW disowns these cars, but the scheme itself raises many questions.

In one of the dealerships, the range starts with the most expensive and status models. Immediately at the entrance to the showroom is a BMW X5 M Competition — a crossover with a 4.4-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 625 hp, an automatic transmission and a proprietary all-wheel drive. The car was produced in Munich in 2024 and is still waiting for a buyer, which is not surprising at a price of 20,990,000 rubles.

BMW X7s, completed at Avtotor at the end of 2025, have not yet entered the showroom, but there are restyled versions brought from abroad. The X7 2025 with a 3.0-liter engine with a capacity of 381 hp, automatic transmission and all-wheel drive is estimated at 18,350,000 rubles. This is still the flagship of the BMW crossover line on the Russian market.

The BMW X6 looks more restrained and is actually a restyling of the 2019 generation model. At the same time, the X6 is gradually leaving the brand's model range — dealers have the last copies left. The version with a 3.0-liter diesel engine with 285 hp, automatic and all-wheel drive is sold for 15,900,000 rubles.

The BMW X5 in 2025 was not noticeably cheaper than the X6 at all. A new car with a 3.0-liter diesel engine with a capacity of 352 hp, automatic transmission and all-wheel drive is estimated at 17,000,000 rubles. The price difference between related models turned out to be minimal, which emphasizes the overall increase in the cost of premium cars.

Compact crossovers look more affordable. The new BMW X3 with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 258 hp, all-wheel drive and an automatic transmission costs 7,050,000 rubles. The BMW X1 is presented in a single copy: a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with 204 hp, all-wheel drive and a robotic gearbox will cost 5,710,000 rubles. There are no sedans in the showroom, but according to the dealer, the new BMW 5 Series costs 10,770,000 rubles, and the flagship 7 Series costs 19,690,000 rubles.
