The new model faces competition in the narrow niche of localized electric vehicles

The main rivals of the Atom electric car on the Russian market will be other models with local production. These include the Moskvich 3e, Evolute i-JOY, and AMBERAUTO A5, whose prices today start at about 1.79 million and reach 3.1 million rubles. This opinion was shared with the Avtostat agency by Anna Utkina, Communications Director of Avtodom Group and AvtoSpecTsentr Group.

According to her, Atom may attract buyers thanks to its unconventional design with rear-hinged doors without a central pillar, a more spacious interior due to the long wheelbase, as well as adaptation for winter operation and the availability of business versions. The new model's range is stated to be up to 500 km. At the same time, the car's key drawback remains its price: it is expected that without subsidies it will be about 3.9 million rubles, while with state support it may fall to around 3 million.

Yuriy Ten, founder of the Terminal A service, also counts Evolute electric cars among Atom's competitors and draws attention to Yandex's project — the UMO U5 model based on the GAC Aion Y Plus, aimed at the taxi market. It is assumed that it will be noticeably cheaper — about 2.4 million rubles including incentives.

For his part, Igor Morzharetto, editor-in-chief of Avtodor Radio, considers the Evolute i-JOY electric crossover, priced at 1.79 million rubles with a preferential loan, as well as the promising Amberavto A3, to be Atom's direct rivals. As a result, the new model will have to compete with several models at once in a fairly limited market segment.
