Road tests of the Lada Azimut crossover are continuing in Tolyatti, and this time a version in the base trim has been caught on camera. The car was seen on a regular road, and the camouflage turned out to be minimal. The prototype lacks a two-tone body finish and a panoramic roof, and it is also equipped with 17-inch stamped steel wheels, which emphasizes its entry-level status in the lineup.
According to insider KhaDm, the base Azimut is powered by a VAZ engine producing 120 hp, paired with a Chinese 6-speed manual transmission from WLY. This powertrain had already appeared in earlier leaks and, apparently, will become the basis for the most affordable versions of the crossover.
Serial production of the Lada Azimut, according to current plans, is expected to start in the second half of 2026. This is AvtoVAZ's first crossover, developed on a modified Lada Vesta platform. The model measures 4416 × 1830 × 1617 mm, with a wheelbase of 2675 mm and a ground clearance of 208 mm. The localization level exceeds 90%, and the engine range will include two units: a 1.6-liter engine with 120 hp and a manual transmission, and a 1.8-liter engine with 132 hp and a CVT.
