Basic Lada Azimut hits public roads

Prototype spotted without two-tone body and panoramic roof

Road tests of the Lada Azimut crossover continue in Togliatti, and this time a version in the basic configuration was caught on camera. The car was spotted on a public road, with minimal camouflage. The prototype lacks the two-tone body paint and panoramic roof, and is also equipped with 17-inch stamped wheels, which emphasizes its initial status in the lineup.

According to insider KhaDm, the base Azimut is equipped with a 120 hp VAZ engine, which works in conjunction with a Chinese 6-speed manual gearbox WLY. This power unit has already appeared in early leaks and, apparently, will become the basis for the most affordable versions of the crossover.

According to current plans, mass production of the Lada Azimut should start in the second half of 2026. This is AvtoVAZ's first crossover developed on a modified Lada Vesta platform. The model's dimensions are 4416 × 1830 × 1617 mm with a wheelbase of 2675 mm and a ground clearance of 208 mm. The level of localization exceeds 90%, and the engine range will include two units: 1.6 liters with 120 hp with mechanics and 1.8 liters with 132 hp with a CVT.
